Uranium - 1976-77
By 1976 we had lost Clive Hartley and Mick Hardcastle to other bands and had recruited Dave Oxberry on vocals.
I was now on keyboards but the general quality of musicianship within the band was still very poor. The only exception to this was Ray Flintoff (guitarist) who was a far better musician than the rest of us put together.
Musicianship was to be less of an issue over the next few years will the rise of Punk Rock. I dismissed Punk as rubbish at the time (it was only much later that I was able to appreciate bands like the Sex Pistols and The Clash).
Towards the end of 1977 Ossie left to join punk band The Germs who instantly recorded and released a vinyl single that sold well in the local area, we were very jealous.
Soon after Ossie left, the band fell apart with Ray and myself deciding to stay together to form a new group.
