Academic Biography
Until August 2015 Ian was a Lecturer in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the University of York and studied computing, multimedia software design and music technology. Ian's research interests are in the usability of software, applied music technology and virtual learning environments and how these technologies can be used in an education setting.

- 2008 / 2010: Lecture replacement project to video record lectures for replacement with Adobe Captivate software.
- 2007 / 2008: “Needle Injection Phobia Project (NIPP) Interactive Skills Training DVD Model”A project to produce visual demonstrations of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for the treatment of blood injury/needle phobia.
- 2005 / 2006: A collaborative evaluation project between the University of Hull and the University of York to assess the impact of the NEYNL WDC eLearning strategy on the work-based practice of health professionals and NHS Trusts in the North and East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire SHA region.
- 2005: E-tutoring Course, a University of York funded staff course as an introduction to e-moderating and facilitating online learning communities. A short 3-week non-accredited course that introduces teaching staff to the main issues surrounding e-learning and online tutoring
